St. Louis native MalikaB is raising the standards once again, amongst the South’s creatives and artisans. Fascinating the fashion design industry with her multi-faceted approach to enhancing personal, street and red carpet style. Born to a family of black entrepreneurs, the liking for handling fabrics was embedded within her genetics. She is the great-granddaughter of one of the earliest black owned dry cleaners in St. Louis. She never complained when it came time to iron a silk or linen garment when her fashion designer mother asked for her help with the family business. She grew up stitching, sewing, and even was instrumental in the tie dying intricate pieces made for her mother’s runway shows in Atlanta, Detroit, New York and Jersey. In the early 2000’s she produced two runway shows in Atlanta under the label name Mos Respected. Her background working in Fashion Design, PR, Editorial and Fashion Show Production has furthered her skills as a burgeoning designer and stylist. 

She has her sights set on the black luxury market and it’s notable designers and filmmakers in the arts industry. She wants to be able to bring the pieces that we dream about on Instagram and in the fashion magazines to the creatives and the Diva’s that love them in a more accessible yet exclusive way. She was recently commissioned directly by Claire Sulmer of the Fashion Bomb Daily to write a piece about the Haute Couture show presented by Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss.
