Doula MalikaB in Kauai
I'm a certified doula that focuses on LD and post partum recovery and holistic birthing methodology. I've been a doula for nearly 20 years. This photo represents a MUCH needed break. As a black woman who holds space for other black women/persons at the sacred portal of life and death, it is imperative that AFTER we help to save the world and bring home the babies that we engage in radical self care and experience capricious joy. Being a doula is a very laborious and taxing job. Going to Kauai to take time away and restore allowed me to fill my reserve. So that I will return to the tradition and profession with refreshing energy and zest to help more black families bring home those beautiful babies and have marvelous birthing experiences. I'm also celebrating my blackness by wearing my favorite black designer in the world, Christopher John Rogers. I'm a doula with a personality and a vibrant energy and eclectic style that all of my clients get to experience, with my intention to inspire healing and authenticity of self.
